One of the toughest exams in india, the UPSC exam, is going to be held in May and the candidates are preparing for it with full hard work. Every year thousands of youth dream of passing this exam, and for this they take inspiration from the stories of successful IAS and IPS officers. In such a situation, we have brought a special series 'Success Mantra' for you, in which today we will tell you about IAS Preeti Hooda, who despite all the difficulties and financial constraints, made her dream come true and became an IAS officer.

Know who is IAS Preeti Hooda            

Preeti Hooda is a resident of Bahadurgarh, Haryana. Her father was a bus driver in delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). The financial condition of the family was not very good, but Preeti never gave up. She decided to prepare for the UPSC exam through hindi medium and chose hindi as an optional subject. However, her first attempt was unsuccessful, but she did not give up. Preeti again appeared for the exam and finally fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer by securing 288th All india Rank (AIR) in 2017.

Prepared while doing PhD              

Preeti was a promising student from the beginning. She had scored 77% in 10th and 87% in 12th. But due to the poor financial condition of the family, her parents wanted her to leave further studies and get married. However, Preeti did not compromise on her dreams and graduated in hindi from Lakshmibai College, Delhi. After this, she did PhD in hindi from the prestigious jawaharlal nehru University (JNU). Interestingly, Preeti initially had no special interest in joining the government service. But her father wanted her to become an IAS officer. When Preeti took admission in JNU, she got proper information about the UPSC exam for the first time. After completing her M.Phil, she started preparing for the Civil services Examination.

This was the UPSC preparation strategy

Preeti Hooda adopted a different and unique strategy for UPSC preparation. She believes that it is more important to study with the right strategy and thoughtfulness than studying for 10 hours without stopping for a long time. She said that it is also important to enjoy during preparation, otherwise studying starts to feel like a burden. According to Preeti, instead of piling up books, one should understand the syllabus carefully and focus on it. The most important thing is that revision should be done from time to time.
