Tamil Nadu has emerged as the number one state in india largely because of its progressive policies that place women on an equal footing with men, said Finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan. He emphadata-sized that inclusive governance and gender equality–focused welfare schemes have played a crucial role in the state’s social and economic advancement.

The minister highlighted that tamil Nadu has consistently implemented forward-thinking programs aimed at empowering women across education, employment, health, and social security. These initiatives ensure that women are not treated as beneficiaries of charity but as equal partners in the state’s development journey.

One of the key reasons for tamil Nadu’s top ranking, he noted, is the government’s long-standing commitment to social justice and equality, a principle rooted in the Dravidian movement. Policies such as free education, reservations, financial assistance for women entrepreneurs, maternity benefits, and schemes supporting girl children have significantly improved women’s participation in the workforce and public life.

Minister Thiagarajan also pointed out that when women are given equal opportunities, the overall economy benefits. Higher female literacy rates, better health indicators, and increased household incomes have contributed to tamil Nadu’s strong performance in human development indices and economic growth.

He further stated that gender equality is not merely a social ideal but a practical strategy for sustainable development. tamil Nadu’s success serves as a model for other states, demonstrating that empowering women leads to stronger institutions, better governance, and inclusive growth.
