Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK President M.K. stalin launched a strong attack on prime minister Narendra Modi and the bharatiya janata party (BJP), accusing them of recycling outdated political narratives that no longer resonate with the people. Using a striking metaphor, stalin said,
“Modi is reheating old fritters, and even the batter has turned sour,” suggesting that the BJP’s ideas and promises have lost relevance and credibility.Addressing a public meeting, stalin alleged that the bjp is attempting to gain a foothold in tamil Nadu by riding on the shoulders of the AIADMK, which he described as a
“subservient alliance.” He criticized the AIADMK for surrendering its autonomy and regional interests to the bjp, claiming that it has become a political tool rather than an independent voice for tamil Nadu.Stalin further accused the Union government of deliberately withholding central funds from the state as a form of political pressure. He stated that the Centre has denied tamil Nadu ₹3,458 crore in funds because the state government firmly opposed the imposition of Hindi. According to him, tamil Nadu’s resistance to hindi imposition is rooted in its long-standing commitment to linguistic equality and federal principles. He emphadata-sized that language should be a means of communication, not domination, and reiterated that tamil Nadu would never compromise on its linguistic and cultural identity. stalin asserted that the denial of funds reflects the BJP-led Union government’s intolerance toward states that challenge its centralizing agenda. The chief minister concluded by stating that the people of tamil Nadu are politically conscious and will reject alliances and policies that undermine state rights, social justice, and diversity. His remarks come amid intensifying political discourse in the state, with language policy, federalism, and alliance politics emerging as major points of contention ahead of future elections.
