With the
Tamil Nadu assembly elections scheduled for the 23rd of next month, the state’s Chief Electoral Officer has announced the deployment of
2,160 flying squads across the state to ensure free and fair polling.
Role of Flying SquadsThe flying squads are specially trained teams tasked with
monitoring election activities, preventing malpractices, and ensuring that voting processes are conducted smoothly. They will patrol critical locations, including
polling booths, transport routes, and public areas, to detect and act against any violations of the Model Code of Conduct.
Ensuring Fair and Transparent ElectionsThe Chief Electoral Officer emphadata-sized that the deployment of these squads is a part of
proactive measures to maintain transparency and integrity in the electoral process. Authorities are urging citizens to cooperate with the flying squads and report any irregularities immediately.
Preparations Ahead of PollingAlongside the flying squads, the election commission has also implemented additional measures, including
enhanced security at polling stations, awareness campaigns, and strict monitoring of campaign activities. These steps aim to ensure a smooth election process for voters across tamil Nadu.
